Famke Janssen returning to ‘Nip/Tuck’

From EW:

Nip/Tuck’s “Hope Diamond of transsexuals” is back!

Famke Janssen has cut a deal to reprise her role as gender-bending sociopath Ava Moore for the FX drama’s seventh and final season, series creator Ryan Murphy confirmed via the show’s online fan forum.

“Just finished the last [Nip/Tuck] script today — the 100th episode,” Murphy wrote. “The end. Very strange. But I thought I would confirm something here on the forum, since you’ve all been so great and loyal: Ava Moore (Famke!) returns for the final two episodes.”

Ava, arguably one of the show’s most memorable characters ever, was last seen jetting off to Paris shortly after completing her final gender reassignment surgery at the end of season 2.

FX has yet to set a date for Nip/Tuck’s seventh season. Heck, they still haven’t announced when the sixth season will air! The upside? It leaves plenty of time for you guys to weigh in on Janssen’s comeback in the comments section!

‘L Word’ Spin-Off NOT Coming to Showtime!

From SheWired:

It’s a sad day for millions of loyal L Word fans.

Hollywood Reporter, Variety, and the Advocate are all reporting the future of The Farm– the L Word spin off that’s been dangled in front of fans for so long– is uncertain.

Showtime has passed on the pilot starring Leisha Hailey, Famke Janssen, Laurie Metcalf, and Meissa Leo. The show centers on a women’s prison, where Alice (Hailey) has been sent, assumedly for murdering Jenny Schecter.

No word on whether The Farm, created by L Word mastermind Ilene Chaiken will be picked up by another network.

Barkin, Janssen set for ‘Chameleon’ roles

From UPI:

Ellen Barkin and Famke Janssen have been cast in French director Jean Paul Salome’s psychological thriller, “The Chameleon,” The Hollywood Reporter said.

Co-starring Nick Stahl and Emilie de Ravin, the film will mark the English-language debuts of both Salome — who co-wrote the script — and French-Canadian actor Marc-Andre Grondin.

The movie is about what happens when a young man is reunited with his family after being positively identified in an unsolved missing-persons case, but suspicions arise about his true identity, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.

The film is loosely based on a New Yorker article called “The Chameleon: The Many Lives of Frederic Bourdin,” which was about an actual person who assumed at least 39 identities, three of them missing teens.
